Well here it is. I've finally gotten around to adding a blog page and hope to give you up-to-date news about what I'm up to, as well as other trivia...

I've really only managed to do this as I'm free of students for the year! I teach full-time at MAINZ (Music & Audio Institute of New Zealand) which is a polytechnic here in Auckland. I also do some teaching at Massey University in the Jazz dept. So while both courses have finished for the year, I can get this started

It's been a busy month gig-wise, mainly with Grand Central Band, doing end-of-year corporate functions. We had a good one at the Museum last Wednesday, for Hewlett-Packard, and came up with the basic idea of quite a good new song in the process. (We like to just start something like a groove or chord progression on a gig, and see what happens!) Our singer, Chris was late for the gig, as he sliced his thumb open at work, but all turned out well.

Last Thursday was a night off for us at the Grand Central bar, as they had their birthday party, but we are back there this week, and hope to play the new song at some stage!
